Creeper Identification
The Brown Creeper is the only species found in North America.
The creeper family is a small group of tree-clinging birds that are generally
dull brown colored, and forage on trees looking for spiders and insects to pry
from the bark. A distinctive feature of creepers is that, unlike nuthatches, they
only move upwards on a tree instead of up and down. Once they reach the top limit
of a tree, they will fly to the bottom of the next one and begin to climb again.
